The Medical Assistant (MA) Program focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to the practice of patient care. Our competency-based program provides students with the necessary skills to work in clinical settings such as general practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, after hours care, and specialty practices in the ambulatory care settings. Students are instructed on medical and surgical asepsis, physical patient exam, electrocardiography (EKG), administration of medication, injections, venipuncture, nutrition, vital signs and medical terminology. Students also receive training to take the National Certification Exam.

To receive program certification, students must complete all classes within a 2-year time frame. To receive a career technical diploma, student must also provide a high school diploma or high school equivalency.
