ESL Beginning-Literacy and Beginning-Low
These classes are for students who cannot read or write and have limited or no English language skills. Students will develop vocabulary, listening comprehension, speaking, basic literacy skills and life skills necessary for the beginning level.
Pronunciation and Grammar 100
Students will practice essential elements of English pronunciation through a variety of exercises, dialogs, and basic conversations. This class provides activities that help students overcome pronunciation difficulties.

Students will improve basic English skills through vocabulary, pronunciation exercises and general conversation. Students will gain confidence by practicing day-to-day vocabulary for formal and informal conversations.

Students will improve listening and speaking skills in order to communicate effectively in English. Students will engage in cooperative learning and pair work on a daily basis.

ESL Beginning-High
These classes are for students with limited understanding of English. Students will develop vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading, writing, conversation skills and life skills needed to function in day-to-day situations.
Pronunciation 200
Students will improve vocabulary, pronunciation and conversation skills. Students will learn how to communicate in everyday life in the United States.

Students will focus on life skills, conversation, grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary and Internet breaking stories. Students will also learn EL Civics COAAPs and test preparation. They will participate in cooperative learning.

Grammar 200
Students will learn and practice grammar tense forms and basic grammatical structures needed to improve writing skills. Students will apply grammar in partner conversations and prepare for real life situations.

ESL Multi-level Beginning
These classes combine the Beginning levels: Beginning-Literacy, Beginning-Low and Beginning-High. Students will develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
Civics Education Multi-level
Students will practice the essentials of English conversation, grammar, reading and writing. Each two week period will cover one life skill theme. Students will also learn EL Civics COAAPs and test preparation.

Students will learn about stress, intonation, pronunciation, blends and reductions. Students will participate in communicative activities and learn conversation strategies. They will also learn new vocabulary.

Students will learn beginning and intermediate grammar necessary to build on reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students will focus on verb tenses and sentence structure.

These classes are for students who have completed ESL Beginning-High or equivalent and have a basic knowledge of survival English. Students will develop greater fluency and oral communication as well as listening, reading, writing, and life skills.
Civics Education 300
Students will practice vocabulary, reading, intermediate grammar, listening, speaking and life skills. Students will engage in critical thinking and develop interpersonal skills. They will learn EL Civics COAAPs and test preparation.

Students will practice life skills, formal and informal conversations, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Students will also use computers to improve typing, Internet research and online communication skills. They will learn EL Civics COAAPs and test preparation.

ESL Intermediate-Low/High
These classes combine the Intermediate-Low and Intermediate-High levels. Students will improve academic skills. Students will continue to develop fluency and build confidence to speak everyday English.
Idioms, Speaking and Vocabulary 350
Students will improve their knowledge and use of idioms and vocabulary. Students will focus on the meanings and appropriate usage of popular idioms and apply them in everyday conversation. They will engage in cooperative learning and role-play.

Students will review basic grammar and learn intermediate grammar, such as clauses, perfect verb tenses and tag questions. Students will practice independently and with partners. They will build grammar skills and confidence.

These classes combine the Intermediate-High and Advanced levels. Students will continue to develop fluency and academic skills. They will receive the tools to achieve success in community, life and career.
Vocabulary and Conversation 450
Students will develop a knowledge of advanced vocabulary to discuss a wide-range of topics. Students will apply their knowledge to real life situations, especially conversation. Workforce and college readiness skills are integrated into this course.

These classes are for students who have completed ESL Intermediate-High or equivalent. Students will expand oral language skills and refine reading and writing skills. Students are prepared for academic studies and a broader range of educational and/or vocational opportunities.
Movies, Idioms and Pronunciation 500
Students will learn new vocabulary, idioms, phrases, pronunciation and American culture through the use of movie media and teacher guided lessons.
