ABC Adult School is committed to offering community-based enrichment classes designed to promote learning and social development, and to improve the quality of life for students of all ages. We offer a diverse selection of workshops and classes designed for personal enrichment, and for enhancing body and mind health. These classes are self-supporting and are not funded by taxpayer dollars.
Quarterly registration fees are based on a minimum of 20 students enrolled per hour.
1-hour per week classes: $36 per quarter
1.5-hour per week classes: $54 per quarter
2-hour per week classes: $72 per quarter
2.5-hour per week classes: $90 per quarter
3-hour per week classes: $108 per quarter

Arts & Crafts
Non-loom beading uses a needle and beading thread. In this class you will learn Peyote, right angle weave, pearl knotting, Kumihimo, and netting. Other techniques that you will be taught are the use of specialty two-hole and shape beads, crimps, and beading wire. This is a class for all levels of students. Previous experience is helpful, but not necessary. Beginners are welcome! During the first session, there will be discussion of the proper tools and supplies that are going to be used. Students must purchase their own supplies.

The calligraphy class will be studying several calligraphy hands. This class is a great atmosphere for the beginner and trained calligrapher who wants to have practice time. Join us! Students must purchase their own supplies.
In this class you will learn all the information and skills to earn California Certified Florist (CCF) by the California State Floral Association. This class will cover floral design terms, techniques, and traditions. $25 material fee due each week. Students must purchase their own supplies.
In this class you will learn how to “fuse glass” by melting it in a kiln to make one-of-a-kind pieces. You'll practice glass cutting skills and learn different construction and decoration techniques which can be applied to all sorts of glass whether you love to make jewelry pieces, panels or plates. We'll cover working with fusible glass as well as try our hands at melting bottles and old window glass. Please wear closed-toed shoes to class. Bring a pair of safety glasses, pencil, ruler, Sharpie marker and scissors to the first class. Depending on the projects selected by each student, materials cost approximately $12 - $18 each week. A limited assortment of glass will be available for purchase in the classroom.
Discover the latest techniques in non-soldering jewelry making, while you are guided through the fundamental steps. A variety of techniques will be covered over the course of the year including wire wrapping, chain maille, cabochon wrapping, wire weaving, use of crimps and beading wire, and metal forming. Learn what findings you need to use to properly finish your work. This class is designed for all levels of students. Beginners are welcome! Projects are created to inspire all students from beginners to advanced level students. Previous experience is not necessary. Students must purchase their own supplies.
This is an introductory studio workshop in drawing with an emphasis on creating unique zentangle artforms. This is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful unique images. Students will use the elements of the zentangle method for creating images by drawing patterns using lines, circles, curved lines, and repetition of images in their compositions. Once the composition is drawn, students will fill with color using sharpie markers. Join one, or all, workshops to express yourself through art. Students must purchase their own supplies.

Greeting cards are a personal way to express interest and love for relatives and friends in modern society. This class welcomes all skill levels. Students will learn, through demonstration, how to use watercolor and ink combinations to create flower landscapes, all in the simple easy way. This class will cover seasonal, holidays and celebrations for students to make their own greeting cards. Students must purchase for their own supplies.
All levels are welcome. Beginner and experienced students will enjoy the satisfying and rewarding experience of working with oil paints in a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere. Students will learn through detailed demonstrations and personal guidance. Advanced students may choose their own projects. Course will present principles of perspective, color, color-value perspective, color mixing, and painting techniques. Students will learn basic sewing and pattern making with a professional twist as you are guided through the process of making patterns from existing garments. Students will learn to draft a skirt from their own measurement and re-design their own style from existing garments. Students will learn step-by-step in sewing their garments with industrial techniques. Students must purchase their own supplies.
Students will learn the basics of how to use a serger; threading, rethreading, adjusting tension, removing unwanted serger stitches and setting up the serger for a variety of decorative stitches. Students need to bring their serger in good working condition. Additional supplies: pencil and notebook, 1 yard of muslin, 4 cones of thread (1 yellow, 1 red, 1 green, 1 blue), 4 cones of white thread, all of the serger tools that came with the machine and the serger manual. A supply list will be handed out on the first day of the workshop for weeks 2 and 3. Students must bring their own serger and purchase their own supplies.

Students will learn the basics of how to use a serger; threading, rethreading, adjusting tension, removing unwanted serger stitches and setting up the serger for a variety of decorative stitches. Students need to bring their serger in good working condition. Additional supplies: pencil and notebook, 1 yard of muslin, 4 cones of thread (1 yellow, 1 red, 1 green, 1 blue), 4 cones of white thread, all of the serger tools that came with the machine and the serger manual. This is an introductory studio workshop in drawing with an emphasis on creating unique zentangle artforms. This is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful unique images. Students will use the elements of the zentangle method for creating images by drawing patterns using lines, circles, curved lines, and repetition of images in their compositions. Once the composition is drawn, students will fill with color using sharpie markers. Join one, or all, workshops to express yourself through art. Students must purchase their own supplies.
